In Part 2 Phil Mason takes a deeper look at performance culture. He discusses the temptation to self-promote through the cultivation of a carefully curated public image. God wants to free us from self-promotion by leading us into heaven’s path of promotion which comes from the Lord. Our motivation in all that we do should always be love for God and love for His people, not performing to meet our own needs for significance and affirmation.

In this podcast Phil Mason discusses "performance culture." What is it and what did Jesus say about it? Jesus spent a lot of time discipling His followers to live in full freedom from performing in order to gain something from God and others. This is the first of a 2 part series on freedom from performance culture. Our identity is as new creation beloved sons and daughters and this is the path to deep inner freedom and rest.

When Jesus said "Come follow me" He wasn't just calling for followers but radical disciples. This radical discipleship is what bears the most fruit in believers lives as we allow ourselves to be trained by the Spirit, the Word and mentors in our lives. It's time for an apprenticeship revolution where we become like the athlete, soldier and farmer mentioned by Paul in 2 Timothy 2 - full of perseverance and being made emotionally healthy whilst we live out our amazing Christ calling in this life!

In this message (recorded at our family camp) Brad teaches us about the language, the values and the fruit of healthy community in Christ. If our culture is a non-performance culture we will see the fullness of true family grow in our midst as we rest in the Fathers love. Each believer is called to take responsibility for belonging and walking into mature discipleship. God is on the move to clean up the spirit of offence in our nation so we can move as one for the common good. This message was phenomenal!!

We need to encounter God in the unexpected, and expect to meet with Him each and every day. In doing so we cultivate a deep relationship with Him where we can continually expect the unexpected.

June 04, 2018 11:39 PM PDT

God is the God of encounter. In this message Phil Mason explores the theme of encountering God in the context of family. Encounter is for the heart and the heart is for encounter. God is always calling us into a deeper place of encountering Him and His incredible love.

As the family of God we are called to be gatekeepers, to bind and loose and open and close and the gates of hell will not prevail.

May 24, 2018 12:35 AM PDT

In this message Phil unpacks the concept of the "common good" and identifies specific areas where "the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts." As we labour in synergy with one another and with God we achieve an infinitely greater outcome than each of us merely pursuing the personal good. Let's all fight for the common good!

Honouring mothers and fathers and people in authority over us is the family model presented to us in Scripture. When honour goes up, glory comes down. In the Kingdom, family culture shows us a better way than a performance culture and consumerism culture.
